The Sisters first arrived in Singapore in 1853 when that country was still part of the British Empire along with Malaya. Singapore separated politically from Malaysia in 1965. From their first days in Singapore the Sisters dedicated themselves to teaching in Schools and to the care of the most abandoned children.
Today most sisters are involved in ministries which emphasise human and spiritual formation and some are responding to needs for religious formation programmes further afield in China and Vietnam.
