The Sisters came to Japan in 1872 immediately following the various stages of removal of laws against foreigners entering the country. A School was established in Yokohama and continues to thrive today. As elsewhere in the Institute recent decades have witnessed huge adaptation by the Sisters to the modern world with its new needs. Today Sisters can be found in several areas of Tokyo, Fujimi, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Shizuoka and in the Philippines as well as Yokohama.
