50 Years of Mission, 50 Years of Love
On the 12th May 2018, the Infant Jesus Sisters celebrated two happy events. Sr Jeanne Tobak Ilene made her final commitment to follow Christ within the Institute and the Vice Province commemorated the Golden Jubilee of our sisters’ presence in Cameroon - 12th May 1968 - 12th May 2018 - fifty years filled with passion for Christ and service of the most vulnerable people.
The celebrations were held over the 11th – 12th May in Somo, Bafia diocese. Sr Jeanne made her final profession during the Jubilee Mass, celebrated by Monseigneur Araham Kome, Bishop of the diocese of Bafang and Administrator of the diocese of Bafia. A large crowd had gathered, drawn from each of our places of mission in Cameroon : Mimboman, Ekounou, Makénéné, Somo, Ndikiniméki, Nitoukou, Fundong. Having Sr Marguerite Marie Carsana and Sr Jacqueline (Paul) Lamotte, who represented the pioneers of this mission, together with some sisters who travelled all the way from Nigeria and Central Africa to join us, added something really special to this wonderful event and made our joy complete.
